Heat capacity of hot water reservoirs

I was asked by an house owner to discover why there was insufficient hot water for the duration of a shower.
I had tested the temperature of the hot water which felt down after 6 minutes with a flow from 0,413 ft³ per minute (11,8 l per minute). With a flow from 0,665 ft3 per minute (19 l per minute) the temperature fell after only 2.2 minutes. This supply was obviously uncomfortable according to international European recommendations. So I advised to install a second container to provide the necessary capacity.
The measurements were made very easily with a laboratory thermometer and a measuring container.
The owner followed my advice and the problem was resolved.
