Efficiency and surface temperature

The cladding of a heat exchanger reached unacceptably high temperatures during operation and could not be reduced significantly despite careful insulation and various attempts with better insulation materials. All efforts, even with different reinforcements, were in vain.
After my specified change in the width of the fins on the heat exchanger from 30 mm to around 70 mm, all problems were solved: the external temperatures of the cladding decreased to a tolerable value of under 60 °C, and the efficiency of the heat exchanger increased to a surprisingly high value of far above that required by the relevant standard.
Nothing stood in the way of approval by the responsible technical inspection association, the safety of the operation was guaranteed, and energy consumption was reduced to a much more favorable value. The thickness of the insulation of the cladding was returned to normal, i.e. brought to its old state.
