My work begins when there is a proposal to plan a new heating system or heating machine or to alter an existing heating system or machine in order to have safer and more secure system or machine or improving existing system or machine. In these instances I examine the system or the machine including taking measurements and then I make my recommendations either orally or in writing. When making my recommendations I of course take account of all European institutional governmental standards and act at all times in accordance with such standards.

I began my career at Staatlichen Schiffsingenieurschule Flensburg as an engineer and then upon graduation I began work with DVGW Test Institute Essen, GWI Gaswärme-Institut e.V. Essen.

I worked self employed on prototypes of gas appliances and other machinery and equipment for heating systems not only in Germany but also in many European countries, USA, Canada and Asia.

As a consequence I obtained substantial knowledge of the rules, laws and standards. I also established contact with institutes and well-known companies in these fields throughout the world.

My challenge has been to ensure such machinery and equipment complied with various different laws and standards from different countries, none of which were similar to each other.

In this connection I have acted in accordance with IHK Mittleres Ruhrgebiet as an expert witness in court cases also in various different countries for 35 Years.
The following extracts from some of my work for problem solutions come from reports that were commissioned by companies, institutes, insurance companies or courts (see troubleshooting).
In addition, I have, of course, constructed the machinery and equipment and created books of instructions in compliance with the local laws and the national standards.

At the same time I was also a member of the professional union of the VDI.
